Maxon, as all male participants in "The Bachelor", he takes full advantage of the opportunities with its contenders. Surprisingly, she is also endearing thanks to her blunders full of good intentions. She does not know what she wants, she is unfair and for these reasons, she is annoying.
Our heroine seems to have forgotten that she is in a game. She wants to be selected by Maxon but continues to keep her opportunity open with Aspen.Īnd she dare to be jealous when the prince shows interest in another suitor.
Unfortunately, America is still undecided. Yet, the game is still on and the prince must choose his beloved.Īnd this is where I found that the story revolved around in circles.Īs there are no more dramatic elimination (except one), nor romantic getaways, the story focuses on the emotions.

If the first volume was about a well known reality tv show maybe a little bit too developed, the author relies less on this in "The Elite." I had a good time reading and cursing against the characters. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending. Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over-and time is running out for America to decide. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else.
